Real Madrid improves offer to keep Vinicius Jr.

Real Madrid have improved their contract proposal to convince Vinicius Jr. to extend his stay at the Santiago Bernabéu. The Brazilian winger’s contract expires at the end of next season, while months of negotiations have failed to produce an agreement because of his salary demands. Arsenal have also prepared a serious approach in case Real Madrid decide to sell him this summer.

The situation changed on Wednesday when Vinicius’ representatives met Real Madrid CEO José Ángel Sánchez and chief scout Juni Calafat in Madrid. According to The Athletic, both sides left the meeting with a positive feeling after the Spanish club increased its offer. Real Madrid now want to reflect Vinicius’ importance to the team’s sporting project and have asked the Brazilian for a final decision as soon as possible.

Vinicius now has three options: extend his contract with Real Madrid, stay until his current deal expires and leave for free next summer, or join Arsenal this summer. The Brazilian must now make his decision, while Real Madrid want to close the negotiations quickly and prepare for the new season. Recent talks have increased optimism in Madrid, with several Spanish and English media outlets expecting Vinicius to continue his career at the Santiago Bernabéu.
