Red Arrows coach Chisi Mbewe has described the Airmen’s CAF Confederation Cup group stage draw as fair while acknowledging the challenges that lie ahead as the Zambian side prepares to battle for a place in the quarter finals.
Reacting to the draw, Chisi Mbewe expressed confidence in his side’s prospects but stressed the need for thorough preparation and a disciplined approach against their continental opponents.
“Thank you so much. I think it is a fair but not easy draw for us,” Chisi Mbewe said.
Having secured their maiden appearance in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage after overcoming South African giants Kaizer Chiefs, Red Arrows will now turn their attention to translating that historic achievement into a sustained continental challenge.
The Airmen have been drawn in Group C alongside Tanzania’s Singida Black Stars, the Democratic Republic of Congo’s AS Maniema Union, and the winner of the outstanding qualification tie involving Algeria’s CR Belouizdad, AS Douanes of Mauritania and Guinea’s Hafia FC.
Meanwhile, as the Airmen await the start of their CAF Confederation Cup groupbstage campaign, attention shifts back to domestic action, with Red Arrows set to host Chirundu United this Saturday at Nkoloma Stadium in the MTN Super League Stream B.
Make a date to welcome the Airmen and rally behind them as they continue their domestic campaign while preparing for the continental challenge.
