Swansea City has reached an agreement with the Belgian club Zulte Waregem for the transfer of Ghanaian international forward Joseph Opoku.
The English club quickly finalized the deal, beating out competitors including Hull City, Genoa, Trabzonspor, Krasnodar, and Real Sociedad.
This transfer marks another step forward in the development of the Ghanaian center forward, who had a particularly impressive debut season in the Jupiler Pro League.
In 33 matches, Joseph Opoku scored 10 goals and recorded 5 assists, establishing himself as one of the breakout stars of the Belgian league.
His club performances have also earned him a spot on the national team. After making his debut with the Black Stars earlier this year, the former Ghana U-20 international was named to Ghana’s preliminary roster for the 2026 World Cup.
