Match day eight of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League concludes on Wednesday with three matches on card.
KCCA host Lugazi at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo aiming to stretch their winning run to four matches. Following a poor start, the Kasasiro are now enjoying a good ride and will be favourites against Lugazi who are struggling to get goals.
A win for KCCA, now 9th on the log with 10 points could lift them into top five if Maroons falter at Nakivubo where they face Entebbe UPPC in the other game.
Lugazi are also desperate for points and need to arrest a four-match winless streak to continue climbing up the table. In Kamwenge, Vipers begin a new era under John Ayala Luyinda as they take on hosts Mbarara City at Rwamwanja stadium.
This will be Ayala’s first game in charge as head coach since the departure of French man Denis Lavagne who was sacked over the weekend. The champions need to bounce back for a frustrating draw at home against Police and with early pacesetters Villa drawing 0-0 with Blacks Power on Tuesday, this is an opportunity for sixth placed Venoms to close in on the leading back.
The hosts are languishing in relegation zone and wants points badly to enhance survival chances early in the season. Back at Nakivubo, Entebbe UPPC have an opportunity to trim the gap at the summit to two points but must beat stubborn Maroons.
