NEC’s perfect start to the season came to end following a goalless draw with Mbarara City at Rwamwanja stadium in Kamwenge.
Badru Kaddu’s side went into the game on the back of wins over KCCA and Lugazi but failed to break down a determined Mbarara City side playing in front of their fans for the first time this season.
The draw leaves NEC on seven points and lifts them to third place on the 18-team log, leaving only BUL and Blacks Power as the perfect sides in the premier league this season.
Mbarara City gain their first point of the campaign and lifts them to 14th place having two games, one less than many sides.
Up next for the Ankole Lions is another home clash against wounded Entebbe UPPC on September 16 while NEC will host URA a day earlier as the premier league enters match round four.
