Vipers SC 1-1 URA
Buhimba United Saints 0-2 Express
SC Villa 0-0 BUL

The StarTimes Uganda Premier League title race tightened further on Friday after leaders Vipers SC were held to a 1-1 draw by URA at St Mary’s Stadium.

URA stunned the hosts in the 35th minute when Ronald Otti rose highest to head home Isma Mugulusi’s free-kick delivery after slack marking from the Venoms defence.

Vipers responded four minutes into the second half through Kizza Arafat Usama, who converted from close range after a Mukundane header came back off the woodwork following an Ashiraf Mandela throw-in.

Despite late pressure and several attacking substitutions, Vipers – who also drew their previous match against KCCA – could not find a winner.

The point moved Vipers to 60 points from 27 matches, five ahead of second-placed KCCA, while Kitara remained firmly in contention on 54 points with a game in hand on both sides. In the west, Express secured a 2-0 victory over bottom side Buhimba United Saints thanks to goals from Marvin Praise Wabuga and Marvin Nyanzi.

Elsewhere, SC Villa were frustrated in a goalless draw at BUL, leaving the Jogoos on 52 points and with their already slim title hopes fading further.
