At 40, he became one of the competition’s surprise stars, helping the Blue Sharks reach the Round of 16 on their historic debut. His standout display against Spain, which ended in a 0-0 draw, and several spectacular saves attracted attention from clubs around the world.
After considering moves to Inter Miami and RS Berkane, Vozinha eventually joined Colo-Colo in Chile on a short-term deal. He initially served as backup to 19-year-old Gabriel Maureira before taking over the starting role in August.
