The quarter-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations have started with plenty of intensity, as Côte d’Ivoire lead Algeria 1-0 at halftime.
The Elephants made a strong start and opened the scoring in the 29th minute through I. Konan. Côte d’Ivoire could have extended their advantage, but the referee disallowed another goal. Ivory Coast then suffered another blow in the 42nd minute when N. Ouédraogo received a red card.
Algeria tried to respond despite playing against 10 players, but the Ivorians held firm until the halftime whistle. The Elephants therefore take a 1-0 lead at halftime.
