World Cup 2026 : England unveils bold squad with major absences

England coach Thomas Tuchel has officially revealed his 26-man squad for the World Cup 2026, and several major omissions have already triggered strong reactions across the country. Phil Foden, Cole Palmer, Harry Maguire, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Morgan Gibbs-White will all miss the tournament despite their status in English football.

Tuchel has instead trusted players who impressed him during the qualification campaign and recent international breaks, while Ivan Toney earned a recall after his excellent season with Al Ahli. England will head into the World Cup 2026 with huge ambitions as the Three Lions prepare to face Croatia, Ghana, and Panama in the group stage.

The England team includes:

Midfielders: Declan Rice (Arsenal), Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest), Kobbie Mainoo (Manchester United), Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa), Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Jordan Henderson (Brentford).
