Brazil could receive a huge boost before its opening World Cup 2026 match against Morocco. While Morocco will miss Abde Ezzalzouli for several weeks, Neymar now moves closer to a return with the Seleção after encouraging updates regarding his calf injury.

“Neymar had an MRI. There are huge expectations. There has been good progress, but we still need to wait a little longer,” explained a journalist from GloboEsporte while discussing the situation of Neymar. The Brazilian star currently continues treatment sessions, physiotherapy, and physical work away from the main group.

“For the moment, he will follow the staff’s plan. There is hope that he will rejoin the group soon. To play against Morocco? We likely can count on Neymar, even if the main objective remains having him ready against Haiti on June 19,” the journalist added.

Brazil’s medical staff still wants to avoid taking unnecessary risks with Neymar’s recovery. However, the latest medical examinations have increased confidence inside Carlo Ancelotti’s squad ahead of one of the most anticipated matches of the opening round at the World Cup 2026.
