Zakaria Reflects on Title Triumph as Ampem Darkoa Ladies Secure Fifth League Crown

Ampem Darkoa Ladies forward Ajegipina Zakaria has expressed both joy and self-criticism after helping her side clinch a fifth Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League title following a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Hasaacas Ladies.

The championship win marked another milestone for the dominant Ghanaian side, but Zakaria admitted the final itself demanded resilience, especially against a determined Hasaacas outfit.

“When we started the game, it was very hard, but we believed that as long as we were playing football, we would get what we were looking for,” she said.

Despite contributing to a decisive victory, the forward remained reflective about her individual performance, suggesting she could have offered more in a high-pressure final.

“So, I’m very happy with the scoreline, though I feel I should have done more,” Zakaria added. “However, since we won the game, we will continue to do our best.”

The triumph underlines Ampem Darkoa Ladies’ continued dominance in Ghanaian women’s football, with the club once again proving their ability to deliver in crucial moments. For Zakaria and her teammates, the focus now shifts to sustaining their winning mentality and building on a historic fifth league crown.
