Zamalek still believes ahead of decisive CAF final clash

Zamalek SC still believes it can turn things around in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final despite the painful defeat against USM Alger in the first leg. The Egyptian side conceded a late penalty in Algeria after a dramatic VAR intervention, but confidence remains high inside the Cairo camp before the decisive showdown on May 16 at Cairo International Stadium.

Coach Moatamed Gamal tried to rally supporters and players with a message full of determination. “The first half has ended in Algeria, and there’s still one half to go in Cairo,” he said. “We are highly motivated to make up this deficit and win the title.” The Zamalek manager also praised his players’ performance in the first leg, insisting that his team defended well and created several dangerous counter-attacks throughout the match.

The atmosphere is already building in Cairo, where Zamalek hopes its fans can push the team toward another continental trophy. Moatamed Gamal remains convinced his squad has what it takes to respond under pressure. “We will fight until the final minute to win and lift the CAF Confederation Cup,” he declared. After the frustration of the first leg, Zamalek now wants to transform anger into motivation in front of its home crowd.
