The Zambia National Futsal Team has concluded its preparations for the upcoming tournament with a 4-1 defeat against Egypt at the Dr. Hassan Moustafa Sports Hall in Giza.
At break the pharaohs led the scoreline 1-0. Zambia kept on pushing in the second half, when Egypt scored more goals through Mohammed Saied, Ahmed Fikry, Khaled Yousry, and Youssef Elshahed. Zambia scored the only goal through Musa Chiwaya
Despite the loss, Zambia displayed a much improved and spirited performance compared to their first preparatory match against the Pharaohs.
The Andrea Cristoferetti side,will now shift their focus to Morocco for the Futsal AFCON 2026 which is scheduled to begin on 12th – 21st October 2026 with much lessons picked from the two Egypt friendlies.
The coaching staff took time to analyse the teamβs performance, identify mistakes made during the 7-2 defeat, and work on areas that need improvement ahead of the second and final encounter against the Pharaohs. The technical meeting was held at the teamβs hotel in Cairo, Egypt, as preparations continue ahead of the 2026 Africa Futsal Cup of Nations in Morocco.
