Sean Dyche believes Thursday’s comprehensive 3-0 victory over Newcastle United was evidence of Everton being handed their just reward for several dominant performances at Goodison Park this season.
Just as he did at Nottingham Forest this past weekend, Dwight McNeil put the Blues 1-0 ahead in the 79th minute when he picked Kieran Trippier’s pocket on the halfway line before driving into the box and rifling a vicious strike past Martin Dubravka.
This time by Harrison, Trippier was caught in possession again minutes later. The winger dribbled down the left before playing a low cross into the box that glanced off McNeil before being lashed home by Doucoure. The night was rounded off in style by substitute Beto who added a tidy third four minutes into stoppage time.

Just as they did against Manchester United two weeks ago, the Blues hit 20+ shots and accumulated a combined Expected Goal (xG) total of over 2.4 (3.23 against Newcastle). Yet this time, they got their reward.
Reflecting on the win with evertontv, Dyche said: “We delivered a good performance against Manchester United, maybe even better than the one against Newcastle, but today we got the opposite [result],” adding: “It was a strong first half against a good outfit. I’ve been asked what we have to change to improve the home form, and I’ve said to take our chances, and today we did.
“Week in and week out, you have to be performing. I try and concentrate on the performance levels, and the markers I am looking for, plus all the other things I often speak about. If you get them right over a season, it will pay you back.”
