Nigeria Women Football League NWFL: Former Bayelsa Queens Head Coach Passes Away

The Nigerian football community is in mourning following the death of Bayelsa Queens head coach Domo Okara.

Okara, who guided Yenagoa to a bronze medal in the CAF Women’s Champions League in 2022, died in the early hours of Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the age of four, with the cause of death unknown.

The dead led Bayelsa Queens to victory in the 2023 Federation Cup, third place in the 2023-2024 Nigeria Women’s Football League Premiership Super Six, which was recently completed in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State’s capital, and third place in the CAF Women’s Champions League in 2022.

His death was announced on the same day that Anthony Ogola, a well-known Bayelsa-born football administrator, was laid to rest in Yenagoa.
