England youngster Kobbie Manoo opened up on his decision to represent England rather than Ghana at international level.
The 19-year has been instrumental for Manchester United last season making 24 appearances and scoring 3 goals with one of them being he winning one in the FA Cup final against arch-rivals Manchester City.
Seeing his stellar performances with the Red Devils, there was no doubt than Gareth Southgate will hand him a call-up with the Three Lions and it came in March.
So far, Kobbie Manoo made it to the Euro 2024 with England and had few minutes against Serbia during the 1-0.
Speaking ahead of Three Lions’ second group game, Kobbie Mainoo who started his international career with England’s U-17 side revealed he considered playing for Ghana but his dream was always to wear England shirt.
“I’m proud of my Ghanaian heritage but it has always been a dream to play for England. I’m happy to be here. I considered it, but I want to play for England,” he said.
