Real Madrid legend Karim Benzema has revealed his pick for Ballon d’or 2024 as the race is still open among all the candidates to replace Lionel Messi.

Benzema won the highly-coveted award in 2022 after winning everything with Real Madrid being the top scorer both in La Liga and UEFA Champions League.

After the Frenchman’s triumph, Lionel Messi came back in 2023 to lift his eighth award which is a record as the player behind him for most Ballon d’or in history is Cristiano Ronaldo who only has five.

This year, the race is a bit tight between Vinicius, Rodri and Jude Bellingham. But for Benzema, no one deserves it than the Brazilian star.

“I’m going to say Vini because he deserves it for his season and not just for what he’s done this year, but also for what he’s done last year, he was also above the rest with his football and what he does with the ball”, the Al-Ittihad superstar told Marca.

“He’s a kid, a complete footballer. He can win a game on his own, of course with the help of his teammates, but he is very good when Real Madrid needs him and that is why I think he deserves it. He is always there and he always shows up. For all of that, my favourite is Vini.”
