Inter Milan: Simone Inzaghi summoned by Italian police

Simone Inzaghi has been summoned by Italian police as part of the investigation into the Inter and AC Milan ultras and their links with the mafia. According to the Ansa news agency, the documents relating to the investigation cite managers and players.

Inzaghi is suspected of having made an agreement with Marco Ferdico, one of the main leaders of the Inter ultras, in order to obtain 200 tickets for the 2023 Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter, in Istanbul (Turkey). The Italian coach had promised to speak with his management.

In addition to the Nerrazzuri coach, it is not excluded that Javier Zanetti, vice-president of Inter, and Milan Skriniar, Inter player between 2017 and 2023, will also be questioned.

In 2023, several ultras including Ferdico had demanded to meet with the management to discuss the club’s sporting difficulties and had put pressure on the Slovak defender not to leave the club. Since the start of this investigation, 19 people have been arrested.
