Dstv Premiership Sundowns produce comeback to hammer Marumo Gallants in PSL

Mamelodi Sundowns further cemented their position at the top of the Betway Premiership with a 3-1 comeback victory over Marumo Gallants at the Dr. Petrus Molemela Stadium on Wednesday.

Miguel Cardoso’s team found themselves trailing 1-0 at halftime after Sede Dion’s header in the 37th minute gave Gallants the lead.

However, the Brazilians responded swiftly in the second half, with Marcelo Allende leveling the score early on, followed by Lucas Ribeiro’s 79th-minute strike that put Sundowns ahead. Iqraam Rayners then secured the win with a late goal, wrapping up the comeback in style.

This victory widened Sundowns’ lead to 12 points over second-placed Orlando Pirates, who saw their match against Golden Arrows postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. Meanwhile, Gallants remain in a precarious 14th place, suffering their third consecutive loss.
