Kenya FKF Premier League: Mathare United ropes in youngster Alex Warai

Mathare United have confirmed closing their mid-season transfer business by acquiring talented young midfielder Alex Warai.

A statement from the club said: “Blessed with composure on the ball way beyond his years and an eye for the spectacular, the 19-year-old has signed his first professional contract and will be at the club for the next three and a half years.

“The Eastleigh High School Alumnus was most recently attached to semi-pro team New Mathare. A Mysa graduate, Warai started his football journey playing through the age ranks in the Mysa football structure and, in 2017, was selected to represent the organisation at the famed Norway Cup.”

Speaking on joining the club, Warai said: “I want to be more involved in training and force myself into the coach’s starting rotation. I am delighted to have joined the club, and this is a testament that hard work pays.”
