Chelsea Cucurella Strikes Chelsea To Fourth Place On The Log

Chelsea defeated struggling Leicester City 1-0 on Sunday, squeezing through with a goal from Spain defender Marc Cucurella in the 60th minute, but they struggled to win the match and move back into the top four of the Premier League.

Prior to Enzo Fernandez’s pass to the charging Cucurella, who skidded an angled shot across the turf and past the diving Mads Hermansen, the home team had been dominant in possession but lacked substance.

Cole Palmer’s penalty in the first half was brilliantly saved by the Danish goalie.

This was the first Premier League penalty miss for the struggling Chelsea forward, who has now failed to score in seven league games.

Chelsea leap-frogged Manchester City into fourth spot on 49 points, two behind third-placed Nottingham Forest and 21 adrift of champions Liverpool.

Leicester stayed second bottom on 17.
