After a 1-1 tie with Ittihad Touarga on Saturday night, RS Berkane created history by winning their first-ever Moroccan league title.
With 60 points, Berkane’s victory in the 25th round of the Premier League was assured.
With five games remaining, they have established an unbeatable 15-point lead over their nearest rivals, FAR Rabat.
During this incredible campaign, Berkane recorded 18 victories, 6 draws, and just one loss to Fath Union Sportive.
They maintained their lead throughout the season thanks to their consistency, solidifying their status as Moroccan football’s top team.
Berkane will participate in the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League the next season as a result of the accomplishment.
Ittihad Touarga was difficult for Berkane to overcome in the first half of the match that decided their championship, but Oussama Melioui’s goal in the 66th minute, assisted by Mohamed Al-Morabit, was the game-winning goal.
Even though the home team equalised, Berkane only needed the one point to secure their first-ever league championship.
