Jerome Adams’ thigh injury is likely to keep him out of action for several weeks.
In last weekend’s 2-1 home loss to Atletico Madrid, Adams suffered his most recent injury.
The club has announced that the Nigerian would start his recuperation process on Wednesday.
“Sevilla FC’s medical team reports that Akor Adams has a muscle injury in the rectus femoris muscle of his right thigh, which was detected after experiencing discomfort in the final LALIGA match against Atlético de Madrid last Sunday,” reads a statement on the club’s official website.
In January, he moved permanently to the Rojiblancos from Montpellier, a Ligue 1 team.
The former striker for Lillestrøm was out for more than a month due to a calf injury.
Adams didn’t play again until last month.
