Due to persistent infractions involving inadequate security and crowd disturbance, Nasarawa United has been expelled from their Lafia Township Stadium and fined N6 million by the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Following the Matchday 33 meeting between the two clubs, there were verified reports of an assault on Vincent Temitope of Plateau United and an effort to intimidate match officials, which led to the punishments.
Nasarawa United was cited by the NPFL on four counts for violating the league’s Framework and Rules, specifically Rules B13.52, B13.22, C9, and C11.

As a penalty for the frequent events in Lafia, the club will now play its remaining home games at Pantami Stadium in Gombe in addition to the fine.
The NPFL’s Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi, emphasised in the letter to the team that the league has a zero-tolerance policy for violence and misbehaviour.
Nasarawa United must reply in writing within 48 hours, either by accepting the ruling or by appealing and going before a disciplinary body.
