Ghana Prosper Narteh Ogum Expresses Disappointment Over Asante Kotoko’s Recent Form

Asante Kotoko head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has voiced his frustration following a string of underwhelming performances from his side in recent games, describing the team’s dip in form as both unexpected and disappointing.

Speaking ahead of their next game, the coach did not hide his feelings about the team’s struggles:

“I’m not happy at all about the kind of performance we put up over a few games and the result we have gotten out of those games,” he stated bluntly.

Kotoko, who had shown signs of promise earlier in the season, now appear to be faltering at a crucial point, leaving their fans concerned and their coach searching for answers. Ogum, who has often emphasized consistency and discipline, appeared particularly puzzled by the sharp contrast between their previous high-level displays and their current form.

“It is not typical of us because, even where we peaked up to, our performance and where we got to and the results that we were getting, we least expected a sudden turnaround or turnover in terms of performance and results. I’m not happy at all. I’m disappointed,” he added.

The Porcupine Warriors have failed to produce the attacking fluidity and defensive solidity that characterized their better performances this season, and Ogum is clearly aware that a swift response is needed.

Asante Kotoko now face a test of character as they look to bounce back and regain momentum in the league. With Ogum at the helm and clearly demanding more, all eyes will be on the team’s response in their upcoming fixtures against Nations FC in Abrankese,Kumasi.
