The Sierra Leone National U-20 team, the Shooting Stars, today attended a special church service at the Flaming Evangelical Ministries International on Syke Street, Freetown, where they received a powerful prayer of blessing and well wishes from renowned man of God, 𝐁𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐝e𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐀𝐛𝐮 𝐒. 𝐊𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚.

The full delegation of players and technical staff was led by 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝟏 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚 𝐋𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐭-𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐧, as they sought divine grace ahead of their historic participation in the CAF U-20 AFCON Tournament in Egypt.

The team is set to depart Sierra Leone on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, with their opening match scheduled for Sunday, April 27 — a day that also marks Sierra Leone’s 64th Independence Day.

The occasion is seen as a significant moment for both the team and the nation as the Shooting Stars prepare to represent Sierra Leone on the continental stage for the very first time in the U-20 AFCON.
