Algeria will play for its survival at the 2026 FIFA World Cup when it faces Jordan on Tuesday at 3:00 AM GMT in a decisive Group J encounter.
After suffering a 3-0 defeat to Argentina in its opening match, the Fennecs must claim all three points to keep their hopes of reaching the Round of 32 alive. Slovenian referee Slavko Vinčić will oversee the match at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
Jordan also enters the contest under pressure after losing 3-1 to Austria in its opening fixture. Both teams know that another defeat could end their World Cup campaign, making this one of the most important matches of the group stage. The winner will stay in contention ahead of the final round, while the loser will almost certainly exit the tournament.
Algeria could even face elimination before the final matchday if results go against it. A defeat to Jordan, combined with either an Austria victory or a draw against Argentina, would leave the Fennecs without any chance of finishing in the top two. Vladimir Petković’s side therefore has only one objective: defeat Jordan and keep its World Cup dream alive.
