Chadian international striker Marius Mouandilmadji experienced the full spectrum of footballing emotions during Samsunspor’s frantic 3–3 draw against Göztepe in the Turkish Süper Lig.
After Göztepe took an early lead through Alex Matos in the 3rd minute, Samsunspor fought back, driven by Mouandilmadji’s physical presence upfront. The turning point arrived in the 25th minute when a VAR review confirmed a penalty foul by Saikuba Jarju.
Stepping up with absolute composure in the 30th minute, Mouandilmadji buried the penalty past the goalkeeper to make it 1–1, igniting the home crowd and resetting the tempo for Samsunspor. Before halftime, Emre Kılınç added a second to put the hosts ahead 2–1 going into the break.
The second half delivered unrelenting action. Göztepe struck back early through Sinclair Armstrong and Efkan Bekiroğlu to regain a 3–2 advantage.
In the 55th minute, VAR once again took center stage, awarding Samsunspor another penalty. Mouandilmadji stepped up once more in the 58th minute looking to complete his double. However, this time his spot-kick was denied, followed immediately by a missed rebound occasion in the same chaotic sequence.
Undeterred by the setback, Samsunspor pressed forward until Celil Yüksel struck a dramatic 90th-minute equalizer to secure a hard-fought 3–3 draw.
Mouandilmadji rose through FC Porto’s system and starred in Belgium with RFC Seraing, Mouandilmadji has established himself as a central figure in Samsunspor’s attack since joining in 2023.
