Uganda Premier League: Alpha Ssali returns to Express FC

Thiery Alpha Ssali will be unveiled as Express FC player in the near future in what will be his second spell at the club.

The winger featured for the eight-time league champions between 2023 and 2025 before he moved to NEC. In his first spell at Express, a former Ugandan youth international featured made over thirty appearances for the club.

Under Hussein Mbalangu at NEC, Ssali failed to break into the starting XI but then made a shock move to KCCA six months later where he spent the whole of last season.

He was part of the KCCA squad that lifted the Fufa Super 8 trophy on Tuesday when they beat NEC 1-0 at Hamz stadium, Nakivubo but was left out of the squad that travelled to Nairobi for the friendly match against AFC Leopards on Saturday with reports stating his contract with the Kasasiro has mutually been terminated.

Ssali who has also had trials in Spain before is a product of Proline Soccer Academy. At Express, Ssali joins a host of new signings who include Buddu Ssaza midfielder Nicholas Jjonga, Isaac Wagoina, Rogers Atube, Duncan Sseninde, Shafik Batambuze, Moses Sseruyidde and Amisi Bwangani.

Others are John Kisekka, Mathias Kigonya, Michael Lutaaya, Ronald Tumusiime, Shafik Kiryowa, Jonah Mugisha and Abdul Katumba.
