Rwanda’s domestic football landscape has entered a new commercial era after Bank of Kigali signed a $2.2 million, five year sponsorship agreement to become the title partner of the country’s premier football competition.
The deal sees the top division officially rebranded as the BK Pro League, marking one of the most significant private sector investments in Rwandan football in recent years. The partnership is expected to boost league operations, club funding, and overall competitiveness across the country’s football ecosystem.
The agreement places Bank of Kigali at the centre of the sport’s ongoing professionalisation drive, with the financial institution committing long term support aimed at improving infrastructure, visibility, and commercial growth of the league.
For the Rwanda Premier League, now the BK Pro League, the sponsorship represents both a financial uplift and a branding reset. League officials have described the partnership as a key step toward elevating standards, increasing fan engagement, and attracting broader regional interest.
