Gamphani Lungu is the newest face to be voted Orlando Pirates Player of the Month after winning the accolade in August.
The Zambian international featured in six matches, clocking 392 minutes of action and making his presence felt in the final third. Hitting the ground running early on in his Bucs career, he has been chosen by the fans as the standout player in the opening month of the 2026/27 season.
With three goals and one assist to his name, Lungu was directly involved in four goals, while also creating eight chances across competitions to help the Soweto Giants to an unbeaten start to their league campaign as well as a spot in the MTN8 final.
He collected an emphatic 3,377 votes from the 6,750 votes, securing almost half of the total and comfortably finishing at the top of the poll. Defender Lebone Seema was the closest challenger, finishing second with 1,405 votes, while Oswin Appollis claimed third place with 848 votes.
The rest of the field was made up by goalkeeper Sipho Chaine who came in fourth with 481 votes, with Thapelo Mokobodi receiving 421 and Tshepang Moremi rounding off the nominees with 218 votes.
