Ghana international Tariq Lamptey was forced off after just 35 minutes during Queens Park Rangers’ clash against Charlton Athletic on Wednesday night after appearing to suffer an injury.
The QPR defender was unable to continue and made his way off the pitch under his own power, with the extent of the injury yet to be confirmed.
Lamptey had made a positive impact in recent games, producing an assist and earning the Man of the Match award in his previous appearance as he continued to build momentum.
The early withdrawal will therefore come as a concern for QPR, with the club expected to assess the Ghanaian defender before providing an update on his condition.
Further medical examinations will determine whether Lamptey faces any spell on the sidelines.
