Tottenham’s difficult start to the season continued on Tuesday with another disappointing result. Spurs sit 17th in the Premier League with just two points from four matches, while their latest setback came in the League Cup against Liverpool, who secured a 3-1 victory to eliminate the London club from the competition.
The defeat added further pressure on Roberto De Zerbi, who has struggled to turn Tottenham’s fortunes around since his arrival.
The Italian coach has won only four of his 13 matches in charge, giving him a win rate of just 31% at Tottenham. That figure matches the record of Osvaldo Ardiles, who also recorded a 31% win rate during his spell with Spurs in 1994.
De Zerbi now faces the challenge of quickly improving his team’s results as Tottenham look to move away from the bottom end of the Premier League table.
