UPDF 1-0 Maroons
Hussein Hassan Zzinda scored in the 43rd minute to hand UPDF a narrow victory over Maroons, with the result lifting the army side to eighth place on five points from four matches.
Maroons, who were unable to find a response after the break, are three places below in 11th on three points. In the night fixture, Express came from behind to draw 1–1 with Kitara.
Frank Tumwesigye put Kitara ahead in the 23rd minute, assisted by Henry Patrick Kaddu, before Nicholas Jjonga equalised for Express in first-half stoppage time, with Isa Glory Kisuule providing the assist. The draw leaves Express, who have only one win in four matches, ninth on four points, while Kitara four places below on two points, having drawn all their two games.
Kitara were dealt a further blow as Kaddu and Isaac Amutuhaire suffered injuries, raising doubts over their availability for the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup assignment against Egypt’s Al Ahly.
