The Gambia Scorpions have started arriving in Banjul ahead of their AFCON 2027 campaign as Head Coach Jonathan McKinstry prepares the squad for their opening game at home against Somalia on Friday Sept 25 and away to Ghana on the 29th in Accra.
Meanwhile the first batch of players numbering 16, including Captain Omar Colley, are already camped at Cocoa Ocean Resort and Spa. The final set of players are expected to join camp later in the evening.
Today’s training session at the Independence Stadium is scheduled at 4PM and will be opened to the general public, including fans and members of the press. Meanwhile, the latest batch of Scorpions have arrived in town today in the evening to join their compatriots at camp ahead of Gambia’s opening campaign for the Afcon 2027 qualifiers.
The players Abubakary Barry, Alagie Saine, Mamudu Bajo and Abdoulie Ceesay joined the team this evening to make a total of 20 players. The final batch is expected later at night to give Coach Jonathan McKinstry a full house
