The SLFA through its Competitions Department, the Leone Rock Premier League Board and Marampa Mines Premier League Board, today officially conducted the fixture draws for the 2026/27 Men’s and Women’s League seasons using the Association’s Connect System. The draw was streamed live from the SLFA Headquarters in Freetown.
In attendance were the General Secretary, Ing. Mohamed Benson Bawoh, Deputy General Secretary, Ishmail Saidu Kanu Esq, Director of Competitions, Sorie Ibrahim Sesay, Premier League Board Chairman, Osman Tommy, and representatives of both male and female Premier League clubs.
Addressing club representatives, the Premier League Board Chairman stated that the 2026/27 league season comes with new innovations, including the upgraded SLFA website and a dedicated development App that will provide live match results and league tables in real-time. He called on club administrators to complete their players’ registration on time, noting that match-day team sheets will now be available on the SLFA Connect portal three hours before kick-off.
Speaking during the live broadcast, the General Secretary, Ing. Mohamed Benson Bawoh, called on clubs to embrace a culture of paperless administration, as football management is now fully digitalized globally.
“Every male and female team playing in the elite league should ensure they work earnestly to meet the Association’s expectations. We are moving to a fully digital and professional league system,” the GS stated.
The Leone Rock Premier League and Marampa Mines Women’s Premier League will kick off on October 10, with exciting fixtures as defending champions Bo Rangers welcome debutants Western United at the Southern Arena, while Mena Queens will host reigning female champions Mogbwemo Queens in Makeni City.
