After winning the Ballon d’Or in 2025—finishing ahead of Lamine Yamal—Ousmane Dembélé enjoyed a spectacular 2024/2025 season. He followed that up with another stellar campaign in 2025/2026, helping Paris Saint-Germain secure a second consecutive European title.
While awaiting his ranking for the upcoming Ballon d’Or ceremony, the 29-year-old French international explained that his personal triumph last year was not what mattered most to him.
“Winning an individual award like the Ballon d’Or is obviously exceptional. But when I signed for PSG, the main goal was to win the Champions League. We’ve won it twice, and we want to keep winning it. That is what matters most. The memories you leave with the fans and all the people of Paris—that is the real victory. Just like the moments spent with my teammates,” he told the BBC.
