The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has annulled Edo Queens’ 4-1 penalty-shootout victory in the WAFU B final and ordered the decisive match to resume from the 2-2 scoreline.
The final will now continue with 30 minutes of extra time, giving both sides another opportunity to settle the contest after the original 90 minutes ended level.
If the teams remain inseparable after extra time, the winner will be determined by a new penalty shootout.
The outcome carries significant importance, with the eventual winner securing WAFU B’s qualification ticket to the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League.
CAF’s decision effectively resets the conclusion of the final, with Edo Queens’ previous shootout triumph no longer standing as the official outcome. The two teams will therefore return to the competition knowing that the continental qualification place remains up for grabs.
