Ghana’s Head Coach Carlos Queiroz makes three changes to the starting XI that faced Côte d’Ivoire, with Benjamin Asare, Felix Afena-Gyan and Jonas Adjetey replacing Lawrence Ati Zigi, Christopher Bonsu Baah and Alexander Djiku.
Ahead of Ghana’s encounter with The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 29, 2026, head coach Carlos Queiroz has reshuffled his side with three strategic changes to the starting XI. Seeking a sharp tactical edge following their recent outing against Côte d’Ivoire, the Black Stars manager has introduced fresh personnel across all three main zones of the pitch.
The most prominent shift takes place in goal, where Benjamin Asare (16) takes over starting duties from Lawrence Ati Zigi.
Defensively, Jonas Adjetey (4) steps into the starting central defensive unit alongside Jerome Opoku (18) to replace Alexander Djiku, flanked by Kojo Oppong Pepprah (21) at right-back and captain Gideon Mensah (14) on the left. In midfield, Kwasi Sibo (8) and Caleb Yirenkyi (3) form the double pivot in Queiroz’s 4-2-3-1 setup.
Further forward, Felix Afena-Gyan (9) returns to the starting lineup on the right wing in place of Christopher Bonsu Baah.
