The Moroccan women’s national team has appointed Eric Blahic as head coach of the Atlas Lionesses, succeeding Jorge Vilda.
Morocco is preparing for two friendly matches against Uzbekistan. This will mark the new head coach’s debut at the helm of the team.
Eric Blahic is also making his debut as head coach of a senior women’s national team.
Throughout his career, he has worked alongside Corinne Diacre and Herve Renard as part of the coaching staff for the French women’s national team.
But above all, Eric Blahic has also worked on the coaching staff of clubs such as Guingamp, Sochaux, and PSG, among others.
He takes over a team that Jorge Vilda built over the course of nearly three years. Under the Spaniard’s leadership, the Lionesses reached the final of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations twice in a row (2022 and 2024).
