Paul Pogba hopes to reclaim two Premier League titles

Paul Pogba has taken a playful dig at Manchester City amid the club’s ongoing legal battle over alleged breaches of Premier League financial rules. While attending events with his partners in Singapore, including activities surrounding the Formula 1 Grand Prix, the French midfielder reacted to the 115 charges facing the reigning English football powerhouse.

“I have nothing to say, to be honest. I just hope it doesn’t affect the Premier League and that we might get two titles back,” he said with a touch of irony.

Pogba was referring to the 2017–2018 and 2020–2021 seasons, when Manchester United finished second in the Premier League behind their city rivals. The Frenchman played for United during both campaigns and could theoretically benefit if the authorities stripped City of their titles and reassigned them to the runners-up.

However, such a scenario remains purely hypothetical, as any potential sanctions and their sporting consequences will depend on the outcome of the proceedings.

Manchester City denies the allegations and continues to defend itself against the charges. While the legal process unfolds, Pogba has used humour to comment on a case that could have major implications for English football. His remarks also revive the fierce rivalry between Manchester United and Manchester City, with the possibility of reclaiming past titles adding another twist to an already closely watched dispute.
