Born in France in early 2007, the young center forward for Clermont Foot, Jean-William Nyindong Tsamouna, has now caught the attention of two national teams.
The player already holds Congolese citizenship and has, in fact, played for the Congo’s U-20 national team.
But his situation could still change. Since his mother is from Gabon, the soccer player is also eligible to play for the Gabonese national team if he chooses to do so. A battle is therefore brewing between Gabonese and Congolese soccer officials.
Each country is preparing its case and seeking to present the best athletic plan to convince the player to choose its jersey.
Gabon, in fact, has a history of convincing players with ties to the Congo.
The country has already attracted several players in this situation, such as David Sambissa, Yanis Mbemba, Philippe Ndinga, and Mantsouga Brad.
