Rwanda Rwanda’s Amavubi keeps position 131 in latest FIFA rankings

Rwanda maintained their 131st place for the third time in a row as per the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday, July 17, in Zurich, Switzerland.

Amavubi had a glorious outing during their recent matches as they continue to lead Group D in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

But there was no improvement in the July world rankings considering that they have not played a single match since the most recent ranking was released in June. They also stayed in 40th position in Africa.

According to the latest ranking, Morocco dropped two places in the 14th position with 1669.44 points but they continue to rule Africa, followed by Senegal (19th) while Egypt are third and 36th in the world.Uganda (95th) remains on top of the Cecafa zone, followed by Kenya (108th) and Tanzania (113th).

Sudan is fourth and 121st globally while Rwanda completes the top five. Meanwhile, having successfully defended their CONMEBOL Copa América crown, Argentina (1st) tightened their grip at the top of the pile.

France (2nd) are still their closest challengers, after reaching the semi-finals of UEFA EURO 2024. Newly crowned European champions Spain (3rd, up 5) have yet more reason to celebrate after hauling themselves into the top three of the ranking, while beaten finalists England (4th, up 1) are just behind the leading pack, having leapfrogged Brazil (5th, down 1).
