Olympic Games NOC Name Amusan As Nigeria Flagbearer At Paris Olympics

Tobi Amusan, Nigeria’s Queen of Track and the World Record holder in the 100m Women’s Hurdles, has been appointed Team Nigeria’s flagbearer for the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony.

She is the only athlete from Athletics to receive such an accolade in 20 years, dating back to Mary Onyali at the Athens 2004 Games.

In addition, the Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC) named Anuoluwapo Opeyori, a male badminton star, as Nigeria’s General Team captain in Paris.

Nigeria is set to compete in athletics. The summer Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024, and will feature badminton, basketball, boxing, canoeing, cycling, football, table tennis, taekwondo, weightlifting, and wrestling.

A total of 88 participants will represent the country in several sports.
