Warri Wolves FC has announced that the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has banned Keno Iyaruwe from attending all EuroMatch NPFL matches following an alleged assault on a match official.
The club disclosed this in an official statement, explaining that the league’s directive followed an incident involving a match official after Warri Wolves’ Matchday 10 fixture.
According to the club, Iyaruwe was arrested by the police on Monday, October 26, 2026, and remained in police custody as of the time the statement was issued.
In compliance with the NPFL’s directive, Warri Wolves said it would display Iyaruwe’s name and photograph prominently at all stadium entrances to prevent him from gaining access to stadium activities involving the club.
The measure is intended to enforce the league’s restriction and reinforce efforts to maintain order and discipline at football venues.
Warri Wolves FC condemned violence and other forms of misconduct capable of endangering match officials, players, club officials and other football stakeholders.
The club stressed that it maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards actions that threaten the safety, dignity and integrity of the game.
It also reaffirmed its commitment to complying with NPFL rules and regulations, urging supporters to remain disciplined and conduct themselves responsibly during matches.
The incident has again drawn attention to the importance of protecting match officials and ensuring that football matches are played in a safe environment.
Warri Wolves called on its supporters to support the club within the bounds of the law and avoid actions that could undermine the reputation of the team or Nigerian football.
