The 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) produced another action-packed round of results on Sunday, with Rivers United, Rangers International, Enyimba and Bendel Insurance among the clubs celebrating important victories.
Rivers United defeated Ikorodu City 2-0, while Rangers recorded a 3-1 victory over Abia Warriors. Enyimba also kept a clean sheet in a 2-0 home win against Plateau United, with Bendel Insurance producing the biggest result of the day, a commanding 4-1 victory over Barau.
Rivers United 2-0 Ikorodu City
Rivers United continued their strong run with a 2-0 victory over Ikorodu City.
Samson Olasupo opened the scoring in the 19th minute before Chinemerem Ugwueze doubled the advantage in first-half stoppage time.
Ikorodu City were unable to find a response after the break as Rivers United protected their two-goal lead until the final whistle.
Rangers 3-1 Abia Warriors
Rangers International claimed a convincing 3-1 win over Abia Warriors.
Godwin Obaje put Rangers ahead in the 37th minute, while Chidiebere Nwobodo extended the advantage four minutes into the second half.
Abia Warriors pulled one goal back through Emeka Obioma from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute, but Rangers restored their two-goal cushion late in the game through Akorode Daniel in stoppage time.
Enyimba 2-0 Plateau United
Enyimba continued their positive campaign with a 2-0 victory over Plateau United.
Ifeanyi Ihemekwele broke the deadlock in the 29th minute before Richard Ezinna sealed the points with the second goal in the 68th minute.
The result gave Enyimba another important three points while maintaining their defensive solidity.
Bendel Insurance 4-1 Barau
Bendel Insurance recorded the biggest win among the day’s fixtures, thrashing Barau 4-1.
Kayode Oke was the star of the show, scoring twice in the 33rd and 78th minutes.
Suraju Lawal added Insurance’s third goal in the 86th minute before Jonathan James completed the rout deep into stoppage time.
Barau’s consolation came from Aliyu Sugau, who converted a penalty in the 82nd minute.
Kwara United 2-1 Ranchers Bees
Kwara United came from behind to defeat Ranchers Bees 2-1.
Jamilu Yusuf gave Ranchers Bees an early lead in the seventh minute, but Kwara United responded strongly after the interval.
Toheeb Gidado equalised in the 50th minute before Stephen Gideon completed the turnaround with the winning goal in the 77th minute.
Inter Lagos 1-1 Katsina United
Inter Lagos and Katsina United shared the points after a 1-1 draw.
Katsina United took the lead through Nura Abdulbari in the 34th minute, but Inter Lagos levelled through Kevwe Iyede eight minutes later.
Neither side could find a winning goal in the second half.
Doma United 1-0 Warri Wolves
Doma United secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Warri Wolves.
Joshua Abah scored the decisive goal in the 81st minute, handing Doma United all three points after a closely contested encounter.
Niger Tornadoes 1-0 Kun Khalifat
Niger Tornadoes edged Kun Khalifat 1-0 in another tight encounter.
Ismaila Sarki scored in the 82nd minute to settle the contest and give Tornadoes a valuable three points.
Shooting Stars 0-0 Nasarawa United
Shooting Stars and Nasarawa United played out a goalless draw.
Neither side was able to break the deadlock, resulting in a share of the points.
