Nigeria Super Eagles Hold Behind Closed Door Training Session Ahead Zimbabwe Clash

In preparation for their matchday 6 Group C 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against the Warriors of Zimbabwe, Nigeria’s Super Eagles will train in private on Sunday.

However, Monday’s training session will be opened for the required fifteen minutes, which will come right after the press conference.

In and around the team’s Four Point Hotel camp in Ikot Ikenne, head coach Eric Chelle has imposed restrictions.

Since Chelle is requesting that the players give their best before Tuesday’s match against the Warriors of Zimbabwe, neither visitors nor journalists are permitted.

The Super Eagles and Zimbabwe, meanwhile, touched down at Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, yesterday (Saturday).

The Zimbabwean delegation arrived just hours after the Super Eagles players and officials touched down in the capital of Akwa Ibom State.

The Super Eagles will enter Tuesday’s match fresh off a 2-0 victory over Rwanda in Kigali, while Zimbabwe would be looking for their first victory of the qualifying campaign.

The Warriors have dropped two games and drawn three of their five qualifiers thus far.

Before the match against Rwanda, the Super Eagles had lost one of their games and drawn three before recording their first victory of the season.

On matchday two of the first leg, which took place in Rwanda, the Super Eagles drew 1-1 thanks to an equaliser from Kelechi Iheanacho in the second half.

With their victory over Rwanda on Friday, the Super Eagles moved up to fourth place with six points, while Zimbabwe is still in last place with three.

Additionally, Zimbabwe will be looking to defeat the Super Eagles for the first time since they won 2-0 in an international friendly game in 1981.
