Tusker Youth Team forward Douglas Omanga says he is massively encouraged by the opportunity handed to him to be part of the Senior Team’s traveling squad for the last FKF Premier League assignment.
Omanga was handed an opportunity in the travelling squad to Mara Sugar, becoming the third Youth Team player to be part of the Seniors after David Polepole and George Odhiambo. Polepole, who is currently out injured, has already made a mark in the senior team with two goals and an assist in four matches.
Omanga is looking forward to follow in his footsteps. “I am really thankful to the staff and the coaches for giving me that chance. I am also thankful to my Youth teammates who have been pushing me to get the best out of myself and that is why I was called up to the seniors,” Omanga said.
On his experience; “It was a really great experience for me because the boys werevery welcoming and vert caring. They try to show you the way and want to get the best out of you. It was such a positive moment for me and that opportunity has given me motivation to come back to the Youth Team and share the same experience. It has also given me a massive confidence boost.”
Omanga hopes to translate the lessons picked from the Seniors to the Youth side, as they push for promotion into the Division One League. They start the second leg in the Division II this Friday with a duel away to City Sports FC and Omanga is hopeful they will be off to a winning start.
