Ghana’s Black Starlets have unveiled their starting lineup for a crucial TotalEnergies U-17 Africa Cup of Nations encounter against Senegal, as both sides look to strengthen their position in the tournament.
The Black Starlets head into the fixture after an entertaining 2-2 draw against Algeria in their opening group match, where Ghana showed attacking quality but were left frustrated after surrendering a two-goal advantage.
Head coach Ghana has maintained faith in several of the players who impressed in the opener, with Solomon Kesse starting in goal behind a defensive line featuring Michael Nyantakyi, Isaac Barfo, Eric Gyamfi and Mark Aboagye.
Captain Mujahid Osman will once again marshal the midfield alongside Issah Rafiu, while attacking threats Robinho Gavi, Mark Mensah, Esau Kpoeti and Jacob Kpoeti lead the charge in search of Ghana’s first win of the tournament.
Senegal, meanwhile, have also named a strong lineup led by captain Assane Sarr. The West African giants will rely on the likes of Lamine Mbengue, Cheikh Thior, Mouhamed Wagne and Cheikh Dieng as they aim to secure maximum points in the high-stakes encounter.
With both nations regarded as traditional powerhouses in youth football on the continent, the clash is expected to deliver intensity, quality and plenty of attacking football as the race for qualification heats up in Morocco.
