Iheanacho Helps Celtic Win Scottish FA Cup

Kelechi Iheanacho was on target as Celtic defeated Dunfermline Athletic 3-1 in the Scottish FA Cup final at Hampden Park to complete a domestic double for the season.

Celtic, who recently secured the Scottish Premiership title, crowned an impressive campaign with another piece of silverware as Iheanacho added his name to the scoresheet in the entertaining final.

The Nigerian forward delivered a superb finish in the second half to extend Celtic’s advantage after earlier goals from Daizen Maeda and Arne Engels had put the Glasgow giants firmly in control of the encounter.

Dunfermline later pulled one back through Josh Cooper, but Celtic held on comfortably to seal the famous victory.

Iheanacho’s goal capped a remarkable end to the season for the Super Eagles striker, who has enjoyed a resurgence since joining Celtic.

The former Leicester City forward played a key role in Celtic’s Scottish Cup campaign, including scoring twice in the semi-final victory over St. Mirren to send the Hoops into the final.

The triumph means Celtic finish the campaign with both the Scottish Premiership title and the Scottish FA Cup, underlining their dominance in Scottish football this season.
